Are Muslims afraid to read the Quran?

I believe that some of the bravest people in the world are ex-Muslims. Why? Because in Islam, according to Sharia law, if you leave Islam, you can be killed for leaving (apostasy), and in virtually all cases, they have been shamed and shunned by family and friends. In addition, some ex-Muslims have been physically assaulted.

I am sharing a YouTube video from an ex-Muslim who says that Muslims are afraid to read the Quran. This may be true, because the Quran is not a complex book; it's just not that well-written. So, it's relatively easy to read, but it's filled with repetition; misinformation about Judaism and Christianity; grammatical errors; and scientific non-sense. And, to me, the more you learn about Islam the worse it gets.

Furthermore, one of my pressing questions to Muslims is, if "shirk" (associating anyone or anything to their god "Allah" is a sin) then why is the pronoun "we" used throughout the Quran, when it's quoting words that Allah reportedly said to Muhammad. Who's the "we"?

Let us hear directly from an ex-Muslim on this topic and on the numerous scientific fallacies n the Quran: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8mbiK7JlEc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yMD99gyr14
